Overview

Copi is an iOS application designed for professionals who often switch between note-taking apps and task managers. The goal was to combine both into one seamless experience, so ideas can be turned into action without friction.

My role

End-to-end Designer

Problems

From early conversations and research, I noticed a recurring issue among professionals:

  • Notes and tasks live in separate apps.

  • Moving ideas from meeting notes into actionable tasks is time-consuming.

  • As a result, many ideas are forgotten or lost in the process.

How might we create one simple flow where ideas and tasks coexist?

Research & Insights

To better understand user needs, I conducted competitor analysis and light interviews with professionals in their mid-20s to early 30s.

Competitor Analysis

Notion: powerful but complex.

Todoist: task-focused, lacks flexibility for long notes.

Apple Notes: great for note-taking, but not as robust for task management.

User Interview

Young professionals (25–35 years old).

Need a lightweight, fast, and fun-to-use application.

Want a seamless transition from idea to execution without having to open multiple applications.

User Persona

Name: Dini

Profession: Project Manager

Pain Point: I often jot down meeting ideas in Notes, then have to move them to Todoist to become tasks. My notes get scattered and I'm hard to track.

Goals: Quickly jot down ideas and assign them to tasks. One app for notes and tasks.

Design Goals

Simplicity

Intuitive experience, without a high learning curve.

Playful yet Professional

Modern visuals with fun micro-interactions.

Seamless Flow

Notes can be directly converted into tasks.

Information Architecture

Wireframe

Visual Design

Foundation

High Fidelity

Outcomes

While this is an early concept, I have been testing and receiving feedback with a small group who have signed up for early access:

  • +40% faster moving notes into tasks.

  • 75% of testers said the workflow felt more natural than using two separate apps.

  • Rated 4.6/5 for “fun and modern” design feel.
